YouTube Program (Edited)
NOTE: The YouTube presentation is heavily edited with overlays to avoid copyright issues. Please like and leave a comment to let us know you were there. 8 ) Earth to Mars: 1000 Years is an audio video presentation which is a tribute to the life of Ben Friedland and in support of mental health and wellness. It is free to stream as a video or audio only program. We will take you on a two hour audio trip which is largely focused on music created by California musicians. The audio program is created from physical media mixed together on analog equipment. It is carefully mixed by (Future) Rich of the Sphire Brothers. The audio program will also contain a dozen newly created songs by the Sphire Brothers. The Sphire Brothers have partnered with old friends, family, and a couple features which were all created over the last year. The audio program also contains drops from friends, family, and cameos along the way. The whole program is set to a movie that inspired us to learn and create with computers and explore the world outdoors. You’ll hear lots of familiar sounds and hopefully some gems that you are not familiar with. You can expect absolute top quality underground hip-hop from California and lots of rock and trip-hop to glue it all together. We have used records, cassettes, DVDs, VHS tapes, an iPod, a CD-R (of a cassette tape found in 2006), and some analog hardware audio to mix into a headphone-ready meal for the ears, mind, and soul. Some parts will make you think, others will make you laugh, some might even make you cry, but overall it is designed to make you move. You can expect to hear snips of songs from The Beatles, Eligh of Living Legends, Megabusive, Cobalt45, Gift of Gab, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Grateful Dead, The Chemical Brothers, Cypress Hill, E-40, Metallica, Steve Miller, Portishead, Daft Punk, Grandaddy, Kraftwerk, Tame Impala, and more. Prepare to be surprised on how we fit this all together. Please join us on a fun free trip, the last official trip from the Sphire Brothers. After the program, we will release the newly created songs so those can be streamed directly without the rest of the program. And for anyone who is interested, a slideshow with more music will be available to help celebrate the life of our friend, Ben Friedland.
