Maybe. I tend to go back and forth on this topic. I was telling Remux that I feel as if stock patch sounds have the stigma that samples used to some years ago. In the past, I was very hesitant to use any kind of stock sound and tried hard to design all the patches I use. As I get older, I gain more appreciation for simple musical performances and love to hear just the stock sounds of a Moog or B3. In some ways I equate this to the signature sound of a Les Paul or Rickenbacker bass. In some parts of my mind, I am embracing making stock patches sound as good as I can make them sound using my mixing abilities and using them in appropriate settings. I could easily change my mind on this as time goes on, that does seem to happen as well.
